Happy Monday! I am coming off of a relaxing weekend spent mostly eating frozen yogurt with my husband. I am excited to start this week with my favorite playful florals. It feels like I am taking a part of the fun summer weekend with me. The key to balancing a busy and bold item like this skirt is pairing it with a neutral. This simple striped tee tones down the outfit and thus making it casual chic.Skirt: Milly, Tee: Old Navy, Shoes: Forever 21, Earrings: Baublebar Hope you had a wonderful time too. Let’s have an amazing week!
The effortless shirt dress is so on-trend this season. It’s spring-weather friendly and works for all style types, making it a true closet keeper. It is an all-time favorite dress of mine. Treat the shirt dress like a blank canvas, and accessorize with playful pieces. A dainty choker and white pumps make it a fun work-appropriate spring time outfit.
For a weekend outfit worthy of praise, wrap a belt around the shirt dress, toss a boho bag over your shoulders, and finish the look with a pair of suede ankle booties! Continue reading →
When it comes to the first day at a new job, it’s important to put your best foot (and face!) forward. One of the easiest ways to settle those first-day jitters and make a stellar first impression is to find the perfect work-appropriate look.
Wear your hair in a bun or a braid – Keeping your hair off your face sends the message that you are ready to get down to business.
Opt for comfortable shoes – the ones you can easily move around in.
Go easy on the perfume – keep it simple and light.
Get a fresh manicure – It’ll make you look as powerful and put together as you feel.
Accessorize tastefully – Don’t overdo it
Bonus tip – Stock up on mints – Chewing gum isn’t exactly the picture of professionalism.
Remember less is more. Keep it simple, radiant and refreshing and you will be feeling better than ever.
Spring has sprung. These days I am more gravitated towards lightweight printed silk pants and breezy pastel tops. It is becoming my ‘Spring Uniform‘. These beautiful printed pants from Nordstrom are perfect for spring and summer. Silk printed pants make a fun work outfit for the springtime. Pair them with a top in the same color palette for a more polished look. Keeping the accessories minimal is another great way to create a look that is worthy for a day at the office. This time of the year is abundant with glitz and glam. Holiday parties are everywhere from casual at home get-togethers to work-parties to formal black-tie affairs. A LBD is perfect for the holiday season, especially if you have a party or event to attend. I love to dress it up with accents of red and hints of sparkle. It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas.
Today is all about fall’s ‘it’ hue, blue. This look is inspired for my blog collaboration with the beautiful Madeline from Veloria in Velvet. Madeline and I have, what one might call an intense blue crush. Big fans! We decided to team our creative minds together and celebrate our love for this stand-out color by putting together two everyday looks that are easy and chic. Both these looks are perfect for fall and transition from work to play very easily. With appearances on the runways and streets, the cool, saturated shade is a bold choice whether it’s rocked head-to-toe or added as a pop of color to an outfit.
I love the pop of blue in Madeline’s look. Be sure to check out Veloria in Velvet for her outfit details and more style inspirations. I am a big fan of her tricks on styling prints and patterns.
Happy Monday! Brighten up your week with a pop of color in your outfit. We tend to shy away from bright hues from our work wardrobe usually. Here’s a casual daytime look that can be updated instantly by adding a tailored jacket. Add a cropped jacket in a darker shade to this outfit and create a layered fall look that can even work for a casual office setting.
This dreamy lace peplum top adds romance to otherwise casual ‘skinny jeans and a top’ outfit.
