Happy Wednesday everyone! I hope you are staying cozy warm. I am still trying to get over this cold weather in the Chicago area. Just can’t get myself to love it anymore. I have loved the snow days, enjoyed being a snow angel and drooled over some trendy winter style inspirations. Now I am ready for colorful spring dresses kinda weather. I couldn’t stop myself when I saw this beautiful dress in the striking blue shade from Dress Lily. I wore it this past weekend at a friend’s baby shower and felt a little bit of spring in my step. This fit and flare dress makes a fun outfit for any get-together. I am a fan of the flattering color-block in the black & white. The dress fits true to size and is comfortable whether you are dancing or sneaking that extra slice of cake (shh!) :). The fabric and color turned out to be different than the website picture. The color is brighter and the fabric is lighter than expected. But, it is a playful and affordable spring dress. The only drawback was that it took forever for me to receive it (over a month). Their shipping services can surely use a speed boost. Continue reading

How was your week? Mine seems to have gone by in a blink of an eye. Personally, it was one of those weeks where things just would not go as planned but I made it through. All’s well that ends well! I did get to hang out with some fun friends and also meet new fantastic people through blogger events. So happy about that. I am really looking forward to this weekend. My husband and I plan to start the ‘finally-decorating-our-living-room’ project. We moved into our place over a year ago. Then life happened and our decorating plans got stowed away in some forgotten corner (specially for our living room). We put some furniture in and the space became comfortable. It is very functional right now but, I would love some art and key pieces to make the beautiful space more symbolic of us as a couple. My latest decorating blog crush is ‘Little Green Notebook‘. It is very resourceful and you can easily spend hours on her site. (trust me! Been there, done that till late late last night). I am inspired. Only time will tell when or how our artsy project will turn into reality. Continue reading
When it comes to work wear I love an outfit that breaks the norms without alerting the HR. This year has been all about the prints and pants are no exception. Personally I can’t get enough of it. I love bold prints, small prints and all prints. I also love a look that can take me from day to night, and pieces that are versatile are budget and closet friendly. This blouse is conservative yet also beautiful in lilac. With a white blazer it looks clean against a pair of tailored printed pants, as well as office appropriate. This statement necklace is not over-bearing which goes perfect with a work-friendly high neckline.
By adding just a few trend pieces such as these patterned pants, to your work wardrobe, you can look summer fabulous and professional without blowing the whole paycheck. After work, I would add a clutch, adding the perfect amount of sparkle for cocktails.
The subtle Geo print on these pants make them perfect for an office setting. Last seen here.
