Where has the summer gone? I refuse to accept summer is over. We were promised a few more weeks of warm weather. So no matter how cute and tempting the new fall looks are I am still sticking to summer looks and hope summer will be back real soon. Like tomorrow! Continue reading
When packing light is a preferred goal for a fun vacation make sure to pack a light summer dress that can be easily dressed up and down. Make a statement in this way-fun floral print. Yesterday, I talked about this dress for a casual look. To dress up the same silk dress, just lose that denim jacket, switch the flats to trendy heels and add a bright lip & some metallic accessories. As I mentioned yesterday, Vegas is one of favorite cities to vacation. And in that enchanting city, a simple summer dress like this keeps you prepared to add some instant glam to your look. And after a day of sightseeing you are ready for a fabulous dinner date at Bar Masa or a fun night of dancing at Haze nightclub with your girl friends. Continue reading
This beautiful patterned dress belonged to my mother. In her college days, she used to wear this as a part of ‘salwar suit‘ – a common outfit worn in south east Asia. Last year, I saw a picture of my mom wearing this and I fell in love with the Batik print and the bright color. This print is very prevalent with women in western India. Luckily, my mom remembered which remote corner of her extravagant closet this was hiding at. Turns out it used to be one of her favorites and a gift from her sister (my aunt) so she had kept it for sentimental value. Today with a few current accessories, I have an amazing outfit for myself. This dress makes me feel exceptionally beautiful as it is part of a legacy. There is always something special and happy-feeling about family inheritance.
I excitedly wore this recently at a family dinner party and kept everybody guessing why does it look familiar.
