Summer Layers

In the last few weeks of summer, it is likely to get excited about the new and upcoming fall fashion that is already so prevalent in all the stores. But, when  the temperatures are still soaring high it is hard to incorporate fall weather friendly items into your outfit. My solution is to add fall accents. Layering a printed scarf on this cotton tee paired with a deep wine-colored maxi skirt makes you look fall ready while keeping you comfortable in the final days of summer. This maxi skirt is cool and breezy enough for a warm afternoon even in it’s warm jewel tone.

While you may find yourself already falling hard for some of fall’s hottest trends, I wouldn’t count out the high-low maxi just yet. Thought of mostly as a summer favorite, the romantic skirt, which not only frames a fabulous pair of heels but also cascades into a dramatic tail hem, has the power to be a major player in your transitional wardrobe. Typically when it comes to wearing a flowy maxi, the “rules” say to stick with a fitted top to counterbalance the skirt silhouette. But with summer officially over, a new list of rules has emerged. I say it’s time to try the complete opposite and go with something a little more loose and unexpected for fall like a soft embellished sweater.
