Holiday Style Inspiration – Maroon dress

With the festive season in the air, ’tis the time to dress up. Here is a fun and festive look to inspire you and get you excited about the holidays.

It is pretty easy to guess that I love dresses and just need any or as many excuses to wear them. And I love them in all colors – Be it red, green or sparkles. This is one of my favorite dresses for December. A drop-waist dress is the ultimate fall/winter dress.  I love how versatile it is.  It is great for both casual and more dressed up occasions, and by tweaking the shoes and accessories, it can be styled to fit a range of personal styles. Go from glam to classic, preppy to edgy or keep it clean and minimal. So much to play with. Continue reading

Cords

I am so excited to match my outfit with the beautiful falling leaves. The bright colors and sunny weather are a perfect recipe for a happy day. I am someone who always gets inspired by nature.

Corduroy pants are a staple for fall. With the thick fabric and the comfortable skinny leg these pants are in heavy rotation in my closet. I am excited to wear them with my favorite trench coat on chillier evenings. Definitely a fall must-have for me!!

Day time Plaid

I am having a relaxed day. That means spending my day with my boyfriend (jeans). 🙂 Hope you have an easy breezy day today!

When the leaves start to fall and the weather gets chilly, one timeless pattern always makes a stylish appearance: plaid! There’s just something about the checkered prints that feels so right for cooler weather. I am delighted to partake in the trend every year. This sequin-collared classic button down shirt is a fresh way to wear this timeless look. Continue reading

Overall obsession

Denim overalls - casual - Samosa POP

Happy Thursday! I have been completely off the grid busy with some much needed family time for the past couple weeks. My parents are visiting all the way from India. (Yay!!) But, I have missed you and I have missed blogging. It’s a beautiful day in the Chicagoland area and today I am talking about a farmer favorite. Overalls may have kicked off in a big way during the spring, but the throwback style is carrying over for the colder months. I am so happy it is here to stay for fall, only now the one-piece styles are longer and ready to be layered with our favorite jackets and knits. Overall, I am obsessed.Denim overalls - casual - closeup - Samosa POP

Overalls are inherently comfortable, so I embraced the causal feel. When dressing them down, the main goal is to keep them from looking disheveled. It is important to pay attention to the details, like swapping flats for a heeled shoe and making sure to wear a slim-fitting top. These leopard print wedges are a comfortable choice and align with the daytime feel.

Hot Pink

While you may find yourself already falling hard for some of fall’s hottest trends, I wouldn’t count out the high-low maxi just yet. Thought of mostly as a summer favorite, the romantic skirt, which not only frames a fabulous pair of heels but also cascades into a dramatic tail hem, has the power to be a major player in your transitional wardrobe. Typically when it comes to wearing a flowy maxi, the “rules” say to stick with a fitted top to counterbalance the skirt silhouette. But with summer officially over, a new list of rules has emerged. I say it’s time to try the complete opposite and go with something a little more loose and unexpected for fall like a soft embellished sweater.
