September skirt

Ever met a piece of clothing that is perfect for right now!? If I had to pick an item out of my closet to symbolize September – with it’s beauty and it’s late-summer weather, it would be this midi skirt.

Talk about love at first twirl!!! The soft baby blue color paired with a peak-a-boo panel is a skirt dream come true. I am head over heels in love with the midi trend (exhibit A and exhibit B). This lady-like trendy skirt is easily going to be my most frequented transition piece with the current changing seasons. Anytime I can find a piece of clothing that is as comfortable as it is stylish, I am immediately sold.

Date night outfit

DSC03952  Date nights are usually pretty casual for my husband and me, but since the nights have become warmer, I have been reaching for my heels. It’s a funny little thing, how a pair of shoes can instantly lift your mood (and height!). We ventured out for some Greek food the other night, and topped it off with delicious orange italian ice for dessert. I am so grateful for warm, summer evenings, they are quite possibly one of my favorite things. Continue reading

Holiday Style Inspiration – Day-time Sparkles

Who says sparkles are limited for fancy night-time looks?! I love sequins, shiny things and a little bit of bling in my everyday looks. ‘Tis the season to wear sequins.

Daytime sparkles - Samosa POP

Ever since these pants caught my eye at Nordstrom, I knew I had to have them. It was not enough to just save them for night outs and parties so I ventured into the daytime armed in my shiny sequin pants. The classic chambray shirt is my secret weapon which balances the sparkle of the look while still keeping it festive. I topped the look with a deep purple peacoat to add a pop of color to my outfit’s neutral tones of denim and gold (Yes gold is a neutral this time of the year).

Hot Pink

While you may find yourself already falling hard for some of fall’s hottest trends, I wouldn’t count out the high-low maxi just yet. Thought of mostly as a summer favorite, the romantic skirt, which not only frames a fabulous pair of heels but also cascades into a dramatic tail hem, has the power to be a major player in your transitional wardrobe. Typically when it comes to wearing a flowy maxi, the “rules” say to stick with a fitted top to counterbalance the skirt silhouette. But with summer officially over, a new list of rules has emerged. I say it’s time to try the complete opposite and go with something a little more loose and unexpected for fall like a soft embellished sweater.

How to rock patterned pants at work

When it comes to work wear I love an outfit that breaks the norms without alerting the HR. This year has been all about the prints and pants are no exception. Personally I can’t get enough of it. I love bold prints, small prints and all prints. I also love a look that can take me from day to night, and pieces that are versatile are budget and closet friendly. This blouse is conservative yet also beautiful in lilac. With a white blazer it looks clean against a pair of tailored printed pants, as well as office appropriate. This statement necklace is not over-bearing which goes perfect with a work-friendly high neckline.

By adding just a few trend pieces such as these patterned pants, to your work wardrobe, you can look summer fabulous and professional without blowing the whole paycheck. After work, I would add a clutch, adding the perfect amount of sparkle for cocktails.

The subtle Geo print on these pants make them perfect for an office setting. Last seen here.
