Thanksgiving is just around the corner. A printed jersey dress is perfect for the family holiday this fall season. I anticipate it to be comfortable and cute when my mom insists I have an extra slice of that awesome pie. Here I am styling two looks that can work for a casual get together or a dressy dinner party. These looks can easily be worn day to night. I am excited to sport the casual look with the flared converted-skirt in the day. It will be a fun time watching the Thanksgiving parade with the family. And then quickly dress it up for the holiday dinner party in the evening. I hope these looks put a spring in your step in this chilly weather and get you excited for the holiday indulgence coming up next week.
Ever since I set eyes on this beautiful gold watch from Timex, I knew it will be my go-to ‘it’ accessory this holiday season. This watch adds just the right amount of bling to any outfit. I love the rich gold color and the attention to detail in the design. I was surprised to discover that it is not very heavy and sits comfortably on my wrist.
My summers are filled with fairs and festivals. The ambiance is filled with art, music and happy people. My kind of scene. Plus, can’t forget all the delicious treats the food festivals have to offer. I love to dress for the occasion and when I think festival I think prints. These pants are perfect. The intrinsic tribal print is my favorite. It is artsy and flattering. I wore this outfit at a recent art fair in my city. I am looking forward to wearing these pants on a casual work day while the summer days are still on. I would pair it with a white/chambray blazer inspired by this look.Continue reading →
Black and White trend styling idea: head-to-toe black and a white bag. It’s party time!
Last night, I was my husband’s date at his company’s fancy birthday party. This structured number was my chic contender for the night. With a crisp and tailored silhouette in black, this sleek one-piece turned out to be less expected and more daring. The jumpsuits are leading the way on the sought-after style for fall. It is as easy to wear as a dress.
This beautiful patterned dress belonged to my mother. In her college days, she used to wear this as a part of ‘salwar suit‘ – a common outfit worn in south east Asia. Last year, I saw a picture of my mom wearing this and I fell in love with the Batik print and the bright color. This print is very prevalent with women in western India. Luckily, my mom remembered which remote corner of her extravagant closet this was hiding at. Turns out it used to be one of her favorites and a gift from her sister (my aunt) so she had kept it for sentimental value. Today with a few current accessories, I have an amazing outfit for myself. This dress makes me feel exceptionally beautiful as it is part of a legacy. There is always something special and happy-feeling about family inheritance.
I excitedly wore this recently at a family dinner party and kept everybody guessing why does it look familiar.

Summer is as much about casual barbecues and beach days as it is about outdoor weddings and parties. Let’s talk about how to style a summery outfit to match your event’s glitz and ritz. The trick is in the accessories. I love this breezy look for a daytime affair.
Keeping the accessories in the same color family brings structure to this light-weight floral dress, making it more suitable for the summer-formal event.
