I will be the first to admit that I am a creature of habit – a lot of the pairings I wear day to day (particularly in winter) are just different variations of the same theme. Button-down shirt + sweater + skirt or pants. Even though there is nothing ground-breaking about this combination, depending on the pieces I choose, the finished looks can be very diverse (casual or sophisticated). In this look, the bow-tie adds more character to this preppy look, than the usual collar neck. So the next time you are standing in front of your closet and are unsure of what to wear, try your own adaptation of these layered basics…it works every time!

I am already in the mood for spring-like weather. So today with the almost 40 degree weather, I had to dress the way I felt. This look is very fun. This luxe vegan leather skirt can chicify any wardrobe. I adore it best paired with bright colors and statement jewelry.
Don’t limit your skirts to warm weather, pair them with tights and leggings for a twirl-worthy outfit even in the winter months. Add a pair of cute booties to the look and you are stylishly ready to take on the still-chilly-almost-spring-like day.
Happy Snowy Monday! Stay warm! Kisses.
Happy Monday! Brighten up your week with a pop of color in your outfit. We tend to shy away from bright hues from our work wardrobe usually. Here’s a casual daytime look that can be updated instantly by adding a tailored jacket. Add a cropped jacket in a darker shade to this outfit and create a layered fall look that can even work for a casual office setting.
This dreamy lace peplum top adds romance to otherwise casual ‘skinny jeans and a top’ outfit.
Happy Monday! Today’s outfit is inspired by all those of you working in a conservative work environment such as teachers. I have the privilege of enjoying a lot of freedom in my work-wear. I try to incorporate new trends and silhouettes whenever I can. My sister-in-law, Riddhi, on the other hand is a fun and fantastic teacher who has to stay in the constraints of school appropriate work-wear. Over the weekend when I met her, I got to thinking what would I wear if I was in her shoes. I decided to try my hands as a stylist to come up with a look which would be trendy and still be limited to certain restrictions such as no short hemlines or uncomfortable high heels or casual jeans. So this post is dedicated to her for challenging me to come up with a work wear that is chic yet comfortable and is compliant with the work-wear standards of schools.
When putting together this look my mind instantly went to an embellished sweatshirt. Managing a classroom full of kids requires high comfort and not many things provide you the ease a soft sweatshirt can offer. Try and opt for a loose fit embellished one for a trendy and modern look.
Black and White combo trend week –
Today I chose to focus on leather. I paired a leather skater skirt with a white button down and some neutral accessories. I added the leopard print wedges to the look, after all as the talented Jenna Lyons says ‘As far as I am concerned leopard is a neutral‘.
In my opinion, everyone should have a little leather in their wardrobe for the season – it adds just the right amount of edge to classic pieces such as my simple white shirt and instantly makes any outfit cooler. I love the vegan styles because they are more affordable options and don’t have the overtly tough feel.
Embellished sweatshirts are a gift from recent runway trends combining two things I love: comfort and sparkly things. It’s a sweatshirt that’s fancy enough to wear to work with a pencil skirt or out to dinner with some jeans/ cropped pants. This creative combination means: ‘You can have your sweatshirts and wear them out of the house, too!’
