Day time Plaid

I am having a relaxed day. That means spending my day with my boyfriend (jeans). 🙂 Hope you have an easy breezy day today!

When the leaves start to fall and the weather gets chilly, one timeless pattern always makes a stylish appearance: plaid! There’s just something about the checkered prints that feels so right for cooler weather. I am delighted to partake in the trend every year. This sequin-collared classic button down shirt is a fresh way to wear this timeless look. Continue reading

Blue crush

I love the deep color of this vintage boxy blazer which also acts as a fall jacket. The blazer can easily work for both day and night and gives off a regal quality.  This fall season’s ‘It’ color – blue makes an outfit stand out against all the warm shades of autumn. This pop of color is a classic for any closet.

This jacket is part of a Salvatore Ferragamo suit I inherited from my mom.  (True Vintage, #TBT). I love her great taste. Thanks to her shopping investment a few decades, I can enjoy the blue legacy today.

Shades of blue

Today is all about fall’s ‘it’ hue, blue. This look is inspired for my blog collaboration with the beautiful Madeline from Veloria in Velvet. Madeline and I have, what one might call an intense blue crush. Big fans! We decided to team our creative minds together and celebrate our love for this stand-out color by putting together two everyday looks that are easy and chic. Both these looks are perfect for fall and transition from work to play very easily. With appearances on the runways and streets, the cool, saturated shade is a bold choice whether it’s rocked head-to-toe or added as a pop of color to an outfit.

Blue - 2 ways

I love the pop of blue in Madeline’s look. Be sure to check out Veloria in Velvet for her outfit details and more style inspirations. I am a big fan of her tricks on styling prints and patterns.

Transition your summer dress

Fall is a beautiful season. There is something almost poetic about the falling leaves and the crisp air along with that perfect slice of pumpkin pie in your hand. Yum! I could say it is my favorite season, but then I would be lying. I love them all. There is just something special about them all. My favorite part is noticing the different colors, all these seasons offer. And the seasonal festivities they all bring along. This week my husband and I made an impromptu trip to a local pumpkin patch and bought us some bright pumpkins (couldn’t wait till the coming saturday :)). I am super excited to dive into all the fall-fun this weekend.DSC04961As you might already know, I have what some might call a deep love fair with ‘red’ (casual red, dressy redred skirt and red pants) :). I am always finding excuses to wear this darling red dress. It is one of those items in my closet that act as an instant pick-me-up. Know what I mean? You might have a few favorites of your own. The ones you never have to think twice before putting them on. But, with the dropping temperatures, the flowy chiffon dress needed a little something extra. So I decided to work some Samosa POP magic and wear it with a pretty lace sweatshirt and VIOLA my summer dress turned into a fall skirt. 🙂 As simple as that. Go on try it for yourself and create a fun and flirty fall look, perfect for those seasonal dates.

Leather skirt

Black and White combo trend week –

Today I chose to focus on leather. I paired a leather skater skirt with a white button down and some neutral accessories. I added the leopard print wedges to the look, after all as the talented Jenna Lyons says ‘As far as I am concerned leopard is a neutral‘.

In my opinion, everyone should have a little leather in their wardrobe for the season – it adds just the right amount of edge to classic pieces such as my simple white shirt and instantly makes any outfit cooler.  I love the vegan styles because they are more affordable options and don’t have the overtly tough feel.

Structured Jumpsuit for fall

Black and White trend styling idea: head-to-toe black and a white bag. It’s party time!

DSC04771

Last night, I was my husband’s date at his company’s fancy birthday party. This structured number was my chic contender for the night. With a crisp and tailored silhouette in black, this sleek one-piece turned out to be less expected and more daring. The jumpsuits are leading the way on the sought-after style for fall. It is as easy to wear as a dress.
