With the festive season in the air, ’tis the time to dress up. Here is a fun and festive look to inspire you and get you excited about the holidays.

It is pretty easy to guess that I love dresses and just need any or as many excuses to wear them. And I love them in all colors – Be it red, green or sparkles. This is one of my favorite dresses for December. A drop-waist dress is the ultimate fall/winter dress.  I love how versatile it is.  It is great for both casual and more dressed up occasions, and by tweaking the shoes and accessories, it can be styled to fit a range of personal styles. Go from glam to classic, preppy to edgy or keep it clean and minimal. So much to play with. Continue reading

Day time Plaid

I am having a relaxed day. That means spending my day with my boyfriend (jeans). 🙂 Hope you have an easy breezy day today!

When the leaves start to fall and the weather gets chilly, one timeless pattern always makes a stylish appearance: plaid! There’s just something about the checkered prints that feels so right for cooler weather. I am delighted to partake in the trend every year. This sequin-collared classic button down shirt is a fresh way to wear this timeless look. Continue reading

Blue crush

I love the deep color of this vintage boxy blazer which also acts as a fall jacket. The blazer can easily work for both day and night and gives off a regal quality.  This fall season’s ‘It’ color – blue makes an outfit stand out against all the warm shades of autumn. This pop of color is a classic for any closet.

This jacket is part of a Salvatore Ferragamo suit I inherited from my mom.  (True Vintage, #TBT). I love her great taste. Thanks to her shopping investment a few decades, I can enjoy the blue legacy today.

Music in Me

DSC03368I love prints. The funkier the better. This casette print skirt totally makes my day. I want to make it my uniform for this summer. It is so cute. It makes me want to dance all the time. Plus the flare on this skirt adds to it’s playfulness. I plan to spend this weekend with the husband by the lake and I have a feeling this skirt will put a musical spell on him.  🙂 Continue reading

Camo sweater – 2 ways

1-Desktop

This camo sweater is too cute for words. It’s modern relaxed look gives you an instantly chic outfit. I like to treat camo as a neutral and mix them with trendy colors, boots and statement-making accessories. The key is to not over think the styling. I just let the fun print take over. Here are two of my favorite ways to wear this comfortable sweater. These looks are going to be in heavy rotation this season.

Stripes & Prints

Stripes & Prints x SP This season is all about prints and pants are no exception. I love these pants, I can’t stop wearing them. Most likely because they are all the colors of the rainbow which is amazing for color-obsessed someone like me. I have fallen hard for this trend of printed pants. My other obsession is mixing prints. Since I am smitten with all sorts of prints, sometimes it’s more fun to mix a couple in one outfit. These pants truly make a statement when teamed with a striped tee. Bottom line – Prints are awesome; more the merrier! Continue reading

Red & Blue

Red & Blue x SP 1Spring is here and I am celebrating by wearing all my favorite colors. It’s still not warm enough to wear my breezy dresses by itself, so I love pairing them with a bright cropped sweater. Adding a sweater is a great trick that instantly creates a new outfit which is comfortable enough to transition a look from winter to spring. Have a colorful day! Continue reading

Preppy layers

I will be the first to admit that I am a creature of habit – a lot of the pairings I wear day to day (particularly in winter) are just different variations of the same theme.  Button-down shirt + sweater + skirt or pants.  Even though there is nothing ground-breaking about this combination, depending on the pieces I choose, the finished looks can be very diverse (casual or sophisticated). In this look, the bow-tie adds more character to this preppy look, than the usual collar neck. So the next time you are standing in front of your closet and are unsure of what to wear, try your own adaptation of these layered basics…it works every time!
