Going to work is the hardest on Mondays. After a relaxing weekend, sometimes it gets tough to roll out of bed when all you want to do is kill the alarm clock and snuggle under the sheets. When you finally do get out of the bed, with barely anytime left to get dolled up, it seems to be one of the toughest tasks to decide what to wear. So here is my attempt to tackle this challenge and help start your Monday fashionably. I prefer my work looks simple and classic. But, trends are not just for off-hours. You can easily sneak in some current trends into your work outfit. To avoid an unhappy call from HR, keep the focus on one trend at a time and the look minimalistic.
This outfit showcases one of the top trends of spring 2013 : Black and White in an office friendly version.
Happy Monday! Wasn’t the weekend too short as always?!! Thankfully some outfits work equally well from weekend to weekday. This dark light-weight jersey romper perfectly executes that attitude. The truth is I love this comfortable romper. Whether you’re tall, petite or curvy, it works well with all body types. I absolutely love the cuffs at the bottom, and even better I can think of a million different ways to wear it. It makes a great date outfit paired with heels plus a bold lipstick. Or add a structured jacket to make it work friendly. Summer-time does mean fun and light work-wear, right?! I think the next way I wear it will be with a denim shirt tied around my waist and chunky boots. Continue reading →
I am feeling casual today so my today’s outfit was inspired from one of my favorite and frequently worn winter combinations – Red & GreyBlack and white combo is a fail-proof way to a stylish and trendy outfit. Casually tippy toe into this still-going-strong-trend by using it in your accessories. Continue reading →
Fall is upon us, and as the weather changes, so does the fashion. Boots, coats, wooly scarves – this is what gets me excited for fall! I can’t help but immediately associate the cooler weather with a warmer wardrobe, and I’m sure I’m not the only one.
‘Tis the season to flaunt your dresses. One of my favorite trends for fall season is a soft and cute sweater dress. This dress acts as a great foundation piece for a layered look in colder climates. It is a classic piece especially in a solid color and can be dressed up and down with a few changes in accessories.
Jogger pants are having a big moment this season. And this is really good because they are the most comfortable pants out there. Just imagine stepping out for work or play in something that is actually lounge-worthy. Yay! Embrace the ‘jogger pants’ trend this fall. These definitely aren’t your shabby Saturday sweats. The temperatures are dropping which means it is boots season. A flat boot is versatile and chic. A girl’s got to have something to dance and jump around in the beautiful fallen leaves. I am very excited for this time of the year as the weather gets cooler and our closets welcome the fall jackets and boots.
Structured jackets are hot this season. The trick is to pay attention to details such as the stand-up contrast collar and the button detail on this jacket. Designers everywhere are all about fitted silhouettes that modernize old-school fabrics and styles such as tweed and military. Continue reading →
Today I chose to focus on leather. I paired a leather skater skirt with a white button down and some neutral accessories. I added the leopard print wedges to the look, after all as the talented Jenna Lyons says ‘As far as I am concerned leopard is a neutral‘.
In my opinion, everyone should have a little leather in their wardrobe for the season – it adds just the right amount of edge to classic pieces such as my simple white shirt and instantly makes any outfit cooler. I love the vegan styles because they are more affordable options and don’t have the overtly tough feel.
