Red is a very popular color this season and this red dress stands out in a sea of little black dresses. Whereas, the red clutch conveniently adds to the drama.

Preppy layers

I will be the first to admit that I am a creature of habit – a lot of the pairings I wear day to day (particularly in winter) are just different variations of the same theme.  Button-down shirt + sweater + skirt or pants.  Even though there is nothing ground-breaking about this combination, depending on the pieces I choose, the finished looks can be very diverse (casual or sophisticated). In this look, the bow-tie adds more character to this preppy look, than the usual collar neck. So the next time you are standing in front of your closet and are unsure of what to wear, try your own adaptation of these layered basics…it works every time!

Patent Handbags

My eyes are often drawn to things that shine, so it’s only natural that I am currently craving a patent leather handbag or two! Here are some options from my favorite designers to rock a glossy +1 for the next night out.

Save – Aldo ($35!!!) – Rock the trend on a budget with Aldo’s boldly hued envelope bag

Spend – Tory Burch ($192.50 – on sale) – This cute bow and a dainty chain strap makes this dazzling azure carry the undeniably ladylike choice.

Spurlge – Marni ($430) – Work a subdued color combo with this glossy pink and black clutch.

No matter how many years pass by, September 11th will always be a day that makes us stop and think about the tragedy that happened in this country. Since today marks the 12th anniversary of 9/11, let us reflect on the gift of life and appreciate our loved ones and this country that is our home.

Thank-you for stopping by! XO!

Peplum meets printed Pants

In the summer time, I prefer soft and easy clothes. Although I am the girl who loves her breezy dresses, I enjoy wearing relaxed silk or linen summer pants in a variety of beautiful prints.

The printed pants are perfect for summer. Swap in flat sandals and you can easily take this outfit to a day of walking around at city the arts fair. Or you are ready for dinner with the way I styled it here. Patio seating please! 🙂
